“The term ‘percussive guitar’ isn’t really strong enough for what Blake Noble does. ... But since ‘attack guitar’ isn’t really a recognized genre and you’ve got to call it something, ‘percussive guitar’ will have to do. But this is not a guy doing a bit of strumming while keeping rhythm by hitting the guitar with his thumb. This is a guy playing his guitar like a drum-kit, and it sounds fantastic.”
Originally from Australia, Blake Noble returns to Republic Brewing for his ninth year in a row with his truly unique blend of roots/rock with glimpses of folk, funk and blues. A multi Instrumentalist, Blake combines 'Percussive Fingerstyle' guitar chops (think Andy Mckee meets John Butler), simultaneously with the deep drone of the ancient Australian Didgeridoo. Blake Noble Band creates high energy, foot stompin' music that will have you kicking off your shoes and dancing barefoot in the dirt. Featuring Joel Hoyer on bass, Matt Teske on pedal steel guitar, Chris Lucier on drums.
““Grooving...wistful, driving, and a masterful combination...velvety vocals over staccato guitar and light percussion capture your attention with Sway Wild.” — Parade Magazine
“Off-Grid Lo-Fi is chock full of roots-rich gems...Fer shreds...excellent guitar...a delicate blues madrigal...” — Acoustic Guitar Magazine
“...soulful songs, intuitive musicianship, and fine singing.” — The Telegraph (UK)

San Juan Island, WA-based indie folk-rock duo Mandy Fer and Dave McGraw are back at it with a new sound, and a new name: Sway Wild! Their exceptional vocal harmonies, coupled with Fer’s pioneering electric guitar work, have become a vehicle to carry them around the world, sharing stages with the likes of Iron & Wine, Lake Street Dive, and Watchhouse. Sway Wild’s infectious sound explores the corners of rock, pop, funk, worldbeat, and folk, but at its nucleus it is undeniably a music full of joy. It can squeeze the heart in your chest, it can draw tears from your eyes, and it can force you to get up and move your body; over and over, it somehow manages to do all three at once. Mandy Fer also tours as the lead guitarist for Amos Lee and Allison Russell and has recently performed with Brandi Carlile.

“Sweet Southern music at its finest, the country and Americana combo tells whisky-soaked tales of love and heartbreak, and all in between. Contreras’ songcraft is tops.”
Raised between the rugged lines of Tennessee and the long shadows of Michigan, Cruz Contreras has spent nearly thirty years forging his path through the Americana musical landscape. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, bandleader, producer, and storyteller whose voice cuts through noise like a well-honed blade.
He got his start at 15, playing guitar behind his younger brother Billy Contreras at fiddle competitions—long before Billy became a world-renowned fiddler, known for his work with George Jones, Sierra Ferrell, Ricky Skaggs. But it was a moment in 1993 that sealed Cruz’s fate: finding himself in a room with the Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe. That room, that sound, that presence—it lit a fire that’s never gone out.
Now touring behind his debut solo album Cosmico, Cruz is joined once more by a band of road-tested companions under the name Cruz Contreras and The Black Lillies. Together, they bring with them a catalog of songs that stretch across time — from the familiar past to the hopeful unknown.
The road is calling.

Hailing from Seattle, Massy Ferguson has spent the better part of two decades exploring both sides of the country-rock divide. You Can't Tell Me I'm Not What I Used To Be, the band's seventh album, expands beyond that mix of ampli!ed twang and raw, guitar-driven bang. If Massy Ferguson's previous records unfolded like soundtracks for loud, lively evenings at the bar, then You Can't Tell Me I'm Not What I Used To Be explores a different sort of sonic real estate. This is the band's cinematic version of rootsy American music, produced by Damien Jurado — an idiosyncratic folksinger celebrated for his craft as much as his unpredictability — and filled with vintage tones, analog production, lush instrumentation, and the sharp songwriting that's always been the bedrock of Massy Ferguson's music. Nearly 20 years into their career, Massy Ferguson haven't just established a sound — they've reached past it, too, turning a new page in a story that continues to be written.

Thank goodness for all the lonely paths Jamie’s had to find that no one else has taken. With a voice that slides in and out of notes with easy grace, a sly sense of humor, and lyrics that highlight the details most of us miss, Jamie creates stark vignettes: intimate conversations between friends who might be lovers and lovers who can’t be friends; kids hopping from stone to stone in a graveyard; the way rolling clouds can signal a new season. She lives and works in that sweet spot where folk and country meet––Guy Clark territory.

Gregory Rawlins was born in lush and rainy Port Orchard, Washington, and when he wasn’t building forts or popping wheelies he was marveling at the beauty of the natural world. Rawlins began writing and performing his homespun songs in the mid-2000s and hasn’t looked back, recording 15 full-length albums—including Pale Marble Movie and Ma –two drastically different albums, both released this past December 6th. From folk to hard rock to experimental—in bands Sons of Guns, Catskills, Foxgloves, and Cut Hand, nothing seems off the table for exploration. As a soloist, his songs tread through country, blues and folk territory, and are ever supported by keen observations of the human spirit and poetic imagery. His instrumentation moves from jangly Woody Guthrie-like rhythm to delicate, alternate thumb fingerpicking reminiscent of Merle Travis and John Prine. From cafes to alleyways, historic theaters to festival stages, Rawlins and his songs—like old friends and good luck charms—continue to plot their course and gain more of each along the way.
Darby truly shines when given the opportunity to fill the air with her uniquely beautiful melodies and hauntingly authentic words. But don't let the honesty of her heartaches fool you, Darby can raise hell with the best of them and has songs waiting for each occasion. Sometimes the elements come together and create a perfect storm.

Clarence Gallagher has been playing and singing since he can remember. He left home with a guitar on his back and traveled most of the country before he was nineteen. After landing in New Orleans he played on the streets and in bars for several years before moving to the mountains of North Carolina and continuing to play music there. Now residing in Curlew Washington, Clarence finds new ways of reshaping old time music today, taking his listeners back in time with vintage tunes from nearly a century ago, resonator guitar puts out an old timey sound, authenticated by his voice and foot stomp percussion.

‘I knew at that time he would be an incredible force in music…he was always received with thunderous applause and standing ovations…’ - Tommy Emmanuel AM
‘likely the most influential acoustic guitar composer of his generation … publicly unsung, his pieces have shaped the progression of the art form since his emergence onto the world stage, only growing stronger through his dormancy … we’re excited to see what this master of the guitar presents in his renaissance’
Guitarist, Composer, Producer and Musical Director, Kyran Daniel began his career performing alongside Grammy Nominee Tommy Emmanuel on stages spanning the globe. His debut album ‘Per Se’ became a highly influential work in the acoustic guitar world, opening the door to his attendance of the prestigious Berklee College of Music studying under the greatest songwriting & production professors in contemporary music.
Following his time at Berklee, Kyran focussed on the roles of songwriter & producer for a cohort of Australian artists including G Flip, Gretta Ray, and Kingswood. His diverse musical palette and superlative musicianship saw him fast become one of Australia’s finest studio talents, and a go-to for artists & labels domestically & abroad, with credits including Gretta Ray’s ARIA Nominated Album ‘Begin To Look Around’ (EMI), G Flip’s #1 ARIA Charting Album ‘Drummer’ (4x ARIA Nominated), and Australian & European tours and televised performances with legendary rock group Kingswood.
2022 saw Kyran return to his most authentic musical form as a solo artist, with sold-out concerts including the opening of ‘The Picasso Century’ at NGV International, and a triumphant return to European and American stages alongside mentor Tommy Emmanuel. Kyran is currently completing his renaissance solo album amidst a string of 2024 USA & European Tours & Festival Performances. Expect a new chapter of emotive compositions drawing upon rich global influences, cinematic soundscapes, and virtuosic performances from the heart.
